Japan's Hitachi Vantara Considers Uzbekistan for IT Outsourcing and Data Hub

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with the management of Hitachi Vantara in Japan to discuss the company's potential entry into the Uzbek market.
Discussions focused on state-supported initiatives designed to position Uzbekistan as a new outsourcing destination for Hitachi Vantara and the broader development of the country's IT sector.
The Minister highlighted available tax and customs incentives, the business environment for IT Park residents, and state-funded training and retraining programs.1
The parties explored establishing a regional office in Uzbekistan. Hitachi Vantara executives noted that Uzbekistan's geographical location, access to CIS and neighboring markets, and competitive labor market are of strategic importance.
Hitachi Vantara expressed interest in developing IT outsourcing services, establishing data infrastructure and data centers, and implementing joint projects with both the public and private sectors in Uzbekistan.
Uzbek officials provided detailed information on data center investment opportunities, state IT infrastructure programs, and education initiatives aimed at the digital economy workforce.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to develop a regional platform for outsourcing and data infrastructure, with both parties committed to defining practical steps for the establishment of data centers and outsourcing operations.
