Cooperation Prospects in the Light Industry Sector between Uzbekistan and Egypt Discussed

On September 22 this year, Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of the Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rukhullo Zikrillayev, held a meeting with Ali Muhammad Basha, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Chief Trade Consul in Türkiye.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to developing trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, expanding industrial cooperation, and strengthening direct ties between manufacturers.
Particular attention was paid to expanding the participation of Egyptian companies in investment projects in Uzbekistan, establishing joint production facilities, and effectively utilizing the industrial and export potential of both countries.
The Agency provided information on the production and export potential of Uzbekistan’s light industry, opportunities created for foreign investors, and state support mechanisms.
The parties also exchanged views on the possibilities for Uzbek companies to establish production facilities in Egypt and access third-country markets with their products.
The discussions also covered issues related to further developing bilateral economic cooperation and intensifying dialogue between business communities in connection with the planned visit of the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to promote mutually beneficial investment and industrial cooperation projects, organize B2B meetings between interested companies, and maintain regular dialogue on priority areas of cooperation.
