On September 15 of this year, the Uzbekistan–Afghanistan Exhibition of Light Industry Products was held at the “Termez International Trade Center” Free Trade Zone in Surkhandarya Region.
The exhibition was opened by Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Nuriddin Azizi, Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan.
Representatives of more than 90 companies from Uzbekistan and over 60 companies from Afghanistan participated in the event. Textile and knitwear products, ready-made garments, leather and footwear products, carpets, and other light industry goods were showcased.
As part of the exhibition, B2B meetings, business discussions, and bilateral negotiations were held to discuss establishing new trade relations and expanding industrial cooperation.
The Agency is supporting the expansion of opportunities for domestic manufacturers and exporters to enter the Afghan market, increase export potential, and develop direct business relations.
The exhibition in Termez marks an important step towards strengthening economic diplomacy between the two countries and bringing practical cooperation in the light industry sector to a new level.
