Under the implementation of Resolution No. PQ–9 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated January 15, 2026, the Light Industry Development Agency has taken an important step toward promoting modern knowledge and advanced international experience in the Uzbek language for industry professionals.
At the initiative of the Agency, and in cooperation with the Centre for Persian and Central Asian Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University and the Dara Shukoh Research Foundation of India, three professional books were selected from internationally recognized and authoritative publications in the field of light industry and translated into Uzbek for the first time.
These publications contain valuable knowledge on technical textiles, modern engineering solutions, innovative technological processes, and advanced manufacturing practices, serving as an important source of practical knowledge for industry specialists, engineers, researchers, students, and entrepreneurs.
This initiative is not merely about translating foreign literature. It represents a strategic step aimed at bringing world-class knowledge into the national industry, strengthening the integration of science and manufacturing, and training a new generation of highly qualified specialists.
In August 2026, at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded the prestigious “Book of the Year Award of Honor” for its initiative related to the publication “Technical Textiles: Engineering Solutions and Technological Processes.”
The award was presented as an international recognition of the Agency’s contribution to the development of industrial innovation, engineering solutions, textile science, and modern manufacturing processes.
This achievement is a practical reflection of a new approach in Uzbekistan aimed at developing the light industry not only by increasing production volumes, but also on the basis of knowledge, science, innovation, and highly qualified human resources.
Bringing global knowledge to industry professionals in the Uzbek language is an important step toward building a competitive, innovative, and knowledge-based light industry.
