Cooperation Prospects Discussed with the Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry

As part of the official visit of the delegation of the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of South Africa, Deputy Director of the Agency Ruxullo Zikrillayev held a meeting with Asgar Mohamed, Vice President of the Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Uzbekistan's ongoing economic reforms, the country's investment climate, and the production and export potential of its light industry sector. Particular attention was given to the export opportunities for cotton yarn, fabrics, ready-made garments and knitwear, home textiles, carpets, and leather and footwear products.
The Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a prominent business organization representing more than 4,000 companies and entrepreneurs in South Africa, expressed its readiness to identify potential importers and distributors for Uzbek products and to facilitate direct business connections between its members and Uzbek manufacturers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to establish direct cooperation between the Light Industry Development Agency and the Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organize an online business meeting involving Uzbek manufacturers and members of the Chamber, and arrange a business mission of South African companies to Uzbekistan.
The parties also reached an agreement to implement joint manufacturing projects, attract South African investment to Uzbekistan, organize a business mission of Minara representatives and South African companies to Uzbekistan, and hold B2B meetings and visits to light industry enterprises as part of the mission.
