Cooperation Prospects Discussed with MBK Holding in South Africa

On 11 July 2026, as part of the official visit of the delegation of the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of South Africa, a meeting was held between Ruxullo Zikrillayev, Deputy Director of the Agency, and Sheikh Mansour bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of MBK Holding, one of the leading investment and industrial holdings of the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, the parties held comprehensive discussions on expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar in the textile industry, attracting investments, and strengthening industrial cooperation.
The management of MBK Holding expressed strong interest in cooperating with Uzbekistan to establish the production of garments made from artificial, synthetic, and plant-based fibers.
The parties also discussed the establishment of a modern textile manufacturing facility in Qatar in partnership with Uzbek enterprises to meet domestic market demand and produce textile products for re-export to third-country markets.
During the negotiations, proposals were presented to implement promising investment projects in Uzbekistan in the fields of sericulture and polyester production.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the management of MBK Holding reaffirmed its full support for cooperation with Uzbekistan, expressed its readiness to facilitate the implementation of joint projects, and pledged to provide high-level support for future cooperation initiatives.
