Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia discussed prospects for cooperation in the light industry sector.

On June 19, 2026, a meeting was held between the leadership of the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Faisal Ba Abdullah, Director of the Saudi–Uzbek Business Council.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed priority areas for expanding trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, enhancing investment cooperation in the light industry sector, and implementing joint projects. Particular attention was paid to establishing production facilities in Uzbekistan and expanding exports of locally manufactured products.
The discussions also focused on establishing direct cooperation with major Saudi manufacturers, retail chains, and brands, as well as developing logistics infrastructure to facilitate the efficient delivery of Uzbek products to the markets of the Gulf countries.
The parties reached an agreement to organize industry-specific business forums and hold meetings with investors and relevant government agencies.
In addition, opportunities for Uzbek manufacturers to participate in major exhibitions and promotional events in Saudi Arabia were discussed, including participation in the national pavilion project within the framework of Riyadh Season.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to advance the proposed initiatives into the implementation stage and to organize a business mission visit to Saudi Arabia.
