Promising Investment Projects Discussed with Pakistan’s DIAMOND GROUP OF INDUSTRIES
On June 18, 2026, the leadership of the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Aqib Nasir, Director of Pakistan’s DIAMOND GROUP OF INDUSTRIES.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s textile and light industry sectors, measures to enhance investment attractiveness, and opportunities to expand the production of high value-added products.
One of the key topics of discussion was an investment initiative to establish a modern textile cluster within the Free Economic Zone of Namangan Region. The parties considered opportunities to create a full production chain covering deep processing of cotton fiber, yarn production, fabric manufacturing, and the production of ready-made garment and knitwear products.
The discussion also focused on prospects for cooperation in attracting advanced technologies, creating new jobs, increasing the volume of deep processing of local raw materials, and developing export-oriented production.
In addition, Aqib Nasir shared information about the company’s experience in the production of textile, household, and industrial products, emphasizing its strong interest in developing long-term cooperation with Uzbekistan and implementing promising investment projects in Namangan Region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to further examine the technical and economic aspects of the project, continue working-level consultations, and develop practical mechanisms for future cooperation.
