Uzbekistan–Poland Economic Cooperation Reaches a New Stage

As part of the visit of the delegation led by Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Light Industry Development Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to Poland, a meeting was held with Michał Jaros, State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of Poland and Co-Chairman of the Uzbekistan–Poland Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland in the areas of light industry, trade, logistics, investment, and e-commerce.
Particular attention was paid to enhancing institutional cooperation, including support for the Uzbekistan Light and Textile Industry Products Hub established in the city of Łódź.
The participants also exchanged views on expanding direct links between Polish buyers, retail chains, distributors, marketplaces, and Uzbek manufacturers, as well as developing contract manufacturing opportunities in Uzbekistan for Polish brands.
The meeting further addressed practical cooperation in the certification, standardization, packaging, and labeling of Uzbek products in accordance with European Union requirements.
Both sides emphasized the importance of making effective use of the existing mechanisms within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission to ensure that cooperation in the light industry sector is translated into concrete projects and tangible results.
The meeting marked another important step toward expanding Uzbekistan’s presence in European markets, increasing its export potential, and creating new opportunities for domestic manufacturers.
