Negotiations were held on expanding international cooperation and implementing new projects

Within the framework of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026), held in St. Petersburg from June 3 to 6, 2026, Bakhtiyor Mukhammadsaidov, First Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held negotiations with international partners.
In particular, a bilateral meeting was held with prominent representatives of India’s industrial and business community — Dr. Asif Iqbal and Wali Kashvi. During the negotiations, the parties discussed expanding trade, economic and industrial cooperation between sectoral enterprises of Uzbekistan and India, strengthening direct partnership relations, and implementing joint projects.
In addition, a meeting was held with Ruchik Patel, Head of the Indian company India Core Engineering. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in providing Uzbekistan’s light industry enterprises with skilled labor and specialists in various fields.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties reached agreements on further strengthening cooperation, establishing regular dialogue between business communities, and developing practical collaboration in the field of workforce supply. They also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.
