Prospects for cooperation with UNIDO were discussed

On May 5 of this year, a meeting was held between Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and representatives of the UNIDO office in Uzbekistan to discuss the expansion of collaborative ties.
During the meeting, presentations of projects implemented by UNIDO were held, and promising areas aimed at the development of the light industry were discussed.
Within the framework of this initiative, it is also planned to develop the activities of the Center of Excellence (CoE) for the light industry, which covers the following areas:

Garment construction (full and short-term courses)

Fashion design and fashion illustration (long and short-term)

Garment manufacturing technologies

Virtual prototyping (ASSOL platform)

Training of sewing operators

Fashion sketching for children and teenagers

Production planning and management
-
Practical internships for students
The center will also provide the following services to business entities: — Garment construction and pattern development — Product quality control
Expected project results:
— Support for economic diversification processes
— Increasing the export potential of small and medium enterprises
— Implementation of modern approaches in marketing, branding, and design
— Strengthening human capital and technological potential
— Expanding opportunities for active participation in global value chains
The parties reached an agreement to implement a joint project aimed at training qualified personnel in the textile industry, fashion, and design based on international experience.
