Within the framework of the targeted policy initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the “Experimental Sewing Center of Light Industry” was established by the Agency for the Development of Light Industry. An unused building was renovated for the center, equipped with modern sewing machines, and certificates for sewing machines were provided to girls willing to learn the craft.
This initiative serves not only to ensure women’s employment but also to create sources of income and improve family well-being. At the same time, practical measures are being taken in other areas based on the needs expressed by local youth.
The Dehqonobod, Bobur Mirzo, and Istiqbol MFYs of Bekobod district are remote settlements located in the border areas of the republic. In particular, the remoteness of Dehqonobod village from the district center has made youth employment a pressing issue.
As a result of the implemented work, out of 40 young people assigned to the Agency, 5 were provided with permanent jobs, 18 received subsidized equipment for self-employment, 3 were sent to military service, 5 were directed to organized labor migration, and 2 were involved in modern professions.
The newly established sewing center is an important step toward supporting local youth, guiding them toward professions, and creating sustainable sources of income.
