An online meeting was held with representatives of the International Labour Organization (ILO) on Uzbekistan’s Green Jobs Programme and Just Transition

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the development of the concept for the establishment of a regional training center on "Just transition". The training center plays an important role in supporting structural and labor market changes to ensure a just transition for employees, businesses and society. Also, the training center is aimed at improving and retraining personnel for various jobs and fields, with a focus on just transition.
In addition, technical assistance and organizational issues related to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the parties were discussed in detail. The memorandum is planned to be signed within the framework of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP-29) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Baku on November 11-22, 2024.
At the end of the meeting, parties agreed to expand cooperation on the issues of expanding green jobs of both sides and supporting the fair transition process in Uzbekistan, as well as ensuring high standards of personnel training for new economic realities.
