Today, October 23, 2025, marks World Paper Free Day — an annual environmental campaign held every fourth Thursday of October that encourages people to go without paper for at least one day.
The purpose of this initiative is to remind us how many natural resources are consumed to produce a single sheet of paper and how important it is to shift toward digital and eco-friendly solutions.
Did you know?
Producing just one ton of paper requires cutting down 17 trees.
The average office worker uses about 10,000 sheets of paper per year.
Manufacturing one ton of paper consumes 4,000 kWh of electricity — roughly the amount a family uses in four months.
It also takes 50,000 liters of water — enough to supply several families for an entire month.
Start saving paper today:
Whenever possible, send documents electronically — think before you print.
Reuse misprinted sheets.
Sort and recycle unnecessary paper.
Protect trees — they are the source of life, clean air, and water. Let today be a step toward conscious consumption and care for nature.
