As part of the “Cleanliness and Tidiness” campaign, large-scale practical activities will be carried out according to an approved plan by the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, its territorial departments in the regions and the city of Tashkent, as well as the state institution “Directorate for Waste Landfill Management.”
To ensure effective coordination of the environmental activities, special task forces have been established within the Agency, its territorial departments, and organizations within its system. In addition, responsible staff members have been assigned to the territorial departments, and a duty system and daily monitoring procedures have been introduced.
Under the established procedure, information on the activities carried out in the regions will be submitted to the Agency on a daily basis and consolidated at the national level. This will ensure regular monitoring of the “Cleanliness and Tidiness” campaign and facilitate the effective organization of cleanup activities across the regions.
During the previously conducted “40-Day Urgent Action” campaign, 8,992 mahallas were covered, with an average of 4,500 units of specialized equipment and nearly 10,000 workers deployed each day. As a result, approximately 1.5 million tonnes of municipal solid waste were collected and removed.
