For reference: as part of this project, a waste incineration plant is being constructed on a 15-hectare site located in the Navro‘z mahalla of the Xushrav settlement in the city of Samarkand. The total cost of the project is USD 150 million. The facility will process 1,500 tonnes of waste per day, or 547,500 tonnes per year, and will generate a total of 240 million kWh of electricity annually. The project is also significant as it is expected to create 150–200 new jobs.
During the discussion, the distinguished guest noted that, at the initiative of the Head of State, Uzbekistan is paying special attention to environmental protection, particularly to transforming waste into an important component of the economy. Sara Pavkov highlighted the rapid and dynamic implementation of the projects and emphasized that the introduction of modern solutions and technologies in the field of waste recycling is essential for ensuring environmental sustainability and is fully aligned with the principles of the “green economy.”
