The handover ceremony was attended by officials from the regional Department for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, industry representatives, and a number of responsible authorities.
For reference: these scooters are particularly effective due to their ability to move freely through the narrow streets of urban neighborhoods and collect waste efficiently. In addition, the two-seat cabin is equipped with cooling and heating systems adapted for both summer and winter conditions. A gasoline-powered scooter can transport up to 1 ton, or 3.5 cubic meters, of waste over a distance of up to 100 km with a fuel consumption of 6 liters. The electric scooters are equipped with a 150-ampere, 72-volt battery and are capable of carrying up to 1 ton of cargo over a distance of 60–80 km.
These measures are being implemented in accordance with Protocol No. 53 of the Head of State dated November 11, 2025. Under this initiative, a one-year pilot system is being introduced in one district or city of each region and the city of Tashkent for the collection of solid household waste from residential homes using scooters. The aim is to improve the quality of services by enhancing the infrastructure of sanitation enterprises in the regions, while also ensuring active public participation.
