In 2026, the foundation was laid for the construction of five additional waste-to-energy plants in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara and Surkhandarya regions, with a total project value of USD 630 million. Currently, feasibility studies for the projects are being developed, and waste supply agreements have been signed.
As a result of these projects, 1.9 million tons of solid household waste will be incinerated annually, 635 million kWh of electricity will be generated, and new jobs will be created.
In addition, a waste sorting and greenhouse gas recycling project worth USD 10 million will be implemented in Samarkand in cooperation with the Turkish company MT Makina. As a result, 500 tons of waste will be sorted per day, and 100 new jobs will be created.
At the same time, a project worth USD 117 million will be implemented with the participation of foreign partners, enabling the processing of 960,000 tons of bottom ash annually. In the future, the initiators plan to launch the production of construction materials from the resulting bottom ash.
