A regular “Political-Educational Hour” was organized at the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency under the theme “Current Issues of Foreign Policy in New Uzbekistan and the World.”
The session featured a lecture by Qobilbek Karimbekov — a well-known foreign policy commentator in television and radio, Honored Journalist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and an academician of the Turan Academy of Sciences and UNESCO.
The primary objective of the “Political-Educational Hour” is to enhance employees’ political awareness, strengthen their legal knowledge, and support a deeper understanding of the essence and significance of large-scale reforms taking place in our country and around the world.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to Uzbekistan at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was emphasized that this visit represents another important step toward strengthening the centuries-old ties of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect between the two countries.
In addition, a detailed overview was provided of the outcomes of international visits made by the Head of State over the past nine years, as well as meetings held with high-level foreign guests visiting Uzbekistan, highlighting the comprehensive and promising agreements achieved.
Furthermore, special mention was made of the recently inaugurated Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan, which has been included in the list of the world’s most beautiful museums for 2026. It was also noted that the newly reconstructed Imam al-Bukhari complex in the Payariq district of Samarkand region — with the capacity to receive up to 65,000 visitors per day — stands as a true gem of New Uzbekistan.
Key socio-political developments on the international stage were widely covered, and recent decisions were thoroughly explained, including their content, relevance, and significance.
The session also included an active exchange of views among participants, during which pressing issues were discussed. Opinions aimed at broadening employees’ political thinking were expressed.
It is worth noting that such open dialogues play an important role in increasing employees’ political engagement, fostering an active civic stance toward ongoing reforms in society, and strengthening a strong sense of civic responsibility and patriotism within the team.
