Awareness Event Held on “State and Religion Relations in New Uzbekistan”

Representatives from the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the event and delivered presentations on актуal issues.
In particular, the speakers addressed cases related to the illegal distribution, import, and storage of religious materials, trends observed on social media, as well as challenges and solutions related to preventing radicalization in society.
The event also covered the legal framework governing state–religion relations in New Uzbekistan, ensuring freedom of conscience, strengthening an atmosphere of tolerance in society, and ongoing reforms in the religious sphere.
The presentations highlighted key principles of state policy, the concept of secularism, and important aspects of the law-making process. It was emphasized that “Secularism does not mean atheism.”
