At the initiative of the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development, underground waste storage units—previously introduced in Samarkand—have now been implemented in Namangan region.
The facility has been installed on a street in the “Obi Hayot” neighborhood of Namangan city, which is currently being реконstructed to operate on a 24/7 basis. The system consists of six underground waste containers, each with a capacity of 500 kilograms. To date, three of these units have been completed. In total, the underground waste storage system can accommodate up to 3 tons of waste.
Once the containers reach capacity, a special automated system sends a signal, and the waste is promptly transported by specialized vehicles to designated landfills. Additionally, similar facilities are planned to be installed in Yangi Namangan and Davlatabad districts.
