Implementation of the Presidential Instruction: Tuition Fees Paid for the Children of 100 Sanitation Workers

The total amount of tuition fees paid amounted to 916 million 718 thousand soums.
On this occasion, today, December 30, Advisor to the Chairperson of the Committee Lola Rahmanbayeva and Director of the Agency Sharifbek Hasanov visited the homes of the competition winners in Tashkent city and presented special certificates confirming that their children’s tuition fees had been fully covered.
As you are aware, earlier an announcement was made regarding the organization of the “Defender of Environmental Harmony” competition aimed at providing material and moral support to sanitation workers of sanitary cleaning enterprises and landscaping departments across the regions. This initiative is stipulated in Resolution No. 514 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 16, 2024, “On Measures to Organize the ‘Defender of Environmental Harmony’ Competition.”
Employees of sanitation enterprises engaged in waste loading, transportation, disposal, and sorting, as well as workers of landscaping departments who have demonstrated many years of dedicated and conscientious service, took part in the “Defender of Environmental Harmony” competition.
A total of 182 applications were submitted to the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy via the email address info@sanitation.uz, as well as through the Agency’s offices in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent city, and regional departments. The applications were reviewed, evaluated, and selected in a transparent and fair manner in accordance with the competition regulations by a commission established under the relevant order of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change (Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change). As a result, 100 most deserving candidates were selected.
On the eve of the New Year, tuition contract fees for the children of the winners studying at state higher education institutions were paid from the Agency’s extra-budgetary funds.

The primary objective of such competitions is to further elevate human dignity. At the same time, they aim to honor sector employees who have devoted many years of selfless service to cleanliness and landscaping, create favorable opportunities for their families, and support the “social mobility” principle by enabling their children to become educated, knowledgeable professionals who will contribute meaningfully to the development of the country.
