Practical efforts have begun to establish an eco-industrial zone in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
In particular, a series of important meetings were held in the city of Nukus with the participation of Sharifbek Hasanov, Director of the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy, as well as responsible leaders of the Jokargy Kenes and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, representatives of the Agency’s territorial department in Karakalpakstan, and officials of local government bodies.
Specifically, during a meeting with Chinese investors on the eco-industrial zone project, the management and specialists of the Chinese company “Beijing China Sciences Runyu Environmental Technology” also took part.
During the negotiations, the following issues were discussed:
-
preparation of documentation for the eco-industrial zone project planned to be established in Karakalpakstan;
-
establishment of cooperation within the framework of the project and mechanisms for its implementation.
In addition, specialists visited the land plot designated for the eco-industrial zone on site and carried out preliminary assessments and studies regarding the condition of the area’s infrastructure and its compliance with project requirements.
The quality of sanitary cleaning services was also kept under special control. During the working visit, sector officials, in cooperation with local authorities, held meetings with representatives of sanitary cleaning enterprises operating in the region.
The main focus of these meetings was on improving the quality of household waste collection and transportation services. Systemic problems arising in the process of creating convenient conditions for the population were thoroughly analyzed, and specific measures were identified to address them.
For information: the working group led by Agency Director Sharifbek Hasanov is tasked, until April 2026, with analyzing the activities of sanitary cleaning enterprises in a number of regions, including the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as assigning new service areas and organizing door-to-door public awareness activities.
