Today, on 27 November, video reports circulated on social networks alleging that fires at a waste landfill in Namangan region were harming the local population.
The Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development provides the following information:
The reported issue was promptly investigated the same day by specialists of the Agency and the “Waste Landfill Management Directorate” State Unitary Enterprise, who visited the site. This landfill was covered with a soil layer and fully reclaimed in October–November of this year.
During the inspection, no signs of burning or smoldering were detected in the area.
