As you may know, on October 14 of this year, during a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on improving the mahalla system and ensuring efficient organization of work on the ground, a nationwide Month of Cleanliness was announced.
Over the course of one month, intensive cleaning efforts were carried out across all cities and districts — including streets, households, multi-storey residential buildings, social facilities, and the surrounding areas of various institutions and organizations.
These activities were coordinated through the Republican Working Headquarters established under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency, in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and other relevant ministries and agencies.
In particular, as part of the “Cleanliness and Neatness” month held from October 15 to November 15 throughout Uzbekistan, a total of 422.4 thousand tons of waste were collected and disposed of.
Under the cleanliness campaign, 95,213 mahalla territories and 60,631 public spaces were cleaned.
A total of 368.8 thousand employees from sanitary cleaning services and landscaping sectors participated in the improvement works.
In addition, 66,291 units of specialized waste-transport and loading equipment were engaged in the process.
Over one month, 448 thousand violations were identified with the participation of staff from the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the Environmental State Control Inspectorate, with appropriate measures taken.
More than 70,301 employees from over 100 partner organizations also actively contributed to the campaign, making a worthy contribution to the improvement of our country.
Please note that if you have any suggestions or complaints regarding the quality of sanitary cleaning services or waste management, you can contact the Waste Management Agency’s 1205 hotline, available 24/7.
