As is known, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 1044 of March 7, 2025, “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aimed at Strengthening Payment Discipline in the Provision of Waste Collection and Disposal Services,” a new procedure has been introduced to enhance payment discipline for these services.
According to the established procedure, by the 3rd day of each month, information about debtors is transferred from the “Toza makon” electronic billing system of the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency to the billing system of the Joint-Stock Company “Regional Electric Networks.”
In particular, on November 5 of this year, in Tashkent city, 25,121 subscribers were notified via SMS messages sent from the short number “2100” of “Regional Electric Networks” JSC about their outstanding debts for waste collection services, totaling approximately 2 billion 239 million soums.
Subscribers who failed to settle their debts within five (5) days after receiving the notification have had their ability to pay for electricity temporarily restricted starting today. At present, the total accounts receivable for waste collection services in Tashkent exceed 582 million soums.
It should be noted that this restriction is lifted immediately after the full repayment of the debt.
For reference: This procedure does not apply to debts accumulated before June 30, 2025. Starting from July 1, 2025, restrictions will apply to debts for waste collection services incurred from November 5 of this year. Sanitary cleaning enterprises are responsible for the accuracy and reliability of service fee calculations.
In the rest of the republic, this procedure will be introduced starting from December of this year.
