As you know, according to the decree signed by the President of the Russian Federation, the deadline for foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Russian Federation to legalize their legal status has been extended until September 10, 2025.

We ask you to regulate your legal status by September 10 of this year. We will explain in detail how this process is carried out in this video.

Step 1. Go to the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and find out whether you are on the list of supervised persons.

Step 2. Then you need to find out whether you have any debts on the page of the Federal Service for Judicial and Enforcement Affairs of the Russian Federation. If there are debts and fines, you are obliged to pay them.

Step 3. After that, you will take your passport, migration card, and a certificate of no debts with you to the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation or the Sakharovo Multiple Migration Center. During the application process, biometric data will be collected from you (i.e., you will take a photo, submit fingerprints, and undergo a medical examination). You will also need to take a test on the Russian language, Russian history, and legislation. If you have a valid certificate, you are exempt from testing is possible.

After making all mandatory payments, you will be issued a special certificate. With this certificate, you must go to the local department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and register for migration within 7 working days. Note that this certificate usually provides you with 14 days of migration registration, that is, registration.
It is within this period that you will have to obtain your patent. Then you go to the migration department in your region and extend the migration registration period based on the patent.

After receiving the patent, you will need to send a notification to the Russian Internal Affairs bodies within two months. If you do not provide this notice, your patent will be suspended for one year.
