The “Cleanliness and Improvement” month-long campaign will begin across the republic on October 1

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 206 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 23, 2026, starting from October 1, 2026, cleanliness activities under the “Cleanliness and Improvement” month-long campaign will be held across the republic for two months as part of the nationwide “Green Space” project.
Within the framework of the “Cleanliness and Improvement” month-long campaign, large-scale practical activities will be organized according to the established plan by the Agency for Waste Management and Development of the Circular Economy of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, territorial departments of the regions and Tashkent city, as well as the state institution “Directorate for Waste Landfill Management”.
In order to effectively coordinate environmental activities, special headquarters have been established at the Agency, territorial departments, and system organizations. Responsible employees have also been assigned to the territorial departments, while a duty system and daily monitoring procedure have been introduced.
According to the established procedure, information on the work being carried out in the regions is submitted to the Agency daily and consolidated at the national level. This will help ensure regular monitoring of the activities of the “Cleanliness and Improvement” month-long campaign and effective organization of cleanliness efforts in the regions.
During the previously conducted “40-Day Campaign”, 8,992 mahallas were covered, with an average of 4,500 units of special equipment and nearly 10,000 employees involved every day. As a result, nearly 1.5 million tons of household waste were removed.
