A New “Eco-Partner” Status Is Proposed for Individuals and Organizations Contributing to Green Spaces

A draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers titled “On Introducing a System to Encourage Individuals and Organizations Contributing to the Establishment of Green Gardens and Green Public Parks” has been submitted for public discussion.
The draft was developed at the initiative of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change. It is aimed at implementing Presidential Decree No. PF–47 dated March 25, 2026, “On Measures to Further Increase the Effectiveness of the Nationwide ‘Yashil Makon’ (Green Space) Project,” as well as expanding public participation in the establishment, maintenance and development of green gardens, green public parks, botanical and dendrological gardens.
According to the draft, individuals and legal entities that establish a green garden or green public park consisting of at least 1,000 tree and shrub seedlings and donate at least 200 million soums to the Green Charity Fund may be granted “Eco-Partner” status.
🏆 The “Eco-Partner” status would be awarded annually based on the results of a competition to:
- 14 individuals — one participant with the highest score from each region;
- 10 legal entities.
Winners would receive special certificates and commemorative gifts.
Those granted “Eco-Partner” status may also be recommended for the “Nature Protector” badge. Among the competition participants, the individual or legal entity with the highest score may be recommended for the honorary title of “Honored Ecologist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
⚠️ Important! Individuals granted “Eco-Partner” status would be prohibited from carrying out any construction activities in designated green areas while exercising the rights provided under the status.
“Eco-Partners” would also receive a 10% discount on state services, while discounts would be applied when obtaining consumer loans from commercial banks in which the state owns more than 50% of the shares.
