According to the Hydrometeorological Service Agency, extremely hot air masses from the south will continue to affect Uzbekistan from 18 to 20 July. Air temperatures across the country are expected to reach 43–45°C, while in some southern and desert areas they may rise to 46–48°C. Winds are also expected to strengthen to 13–18 m/s, with gusts of 20–22 m/s in some places. Dust and sand storms are possible in certain areas.
During this period, it is essential to pay particular attention to your health and the safety of your loved ones. Whenever possible, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, stay well hydrated and take all necessary precautions to protect yourself from extreme heat.
The heatwave poses a serious threat not only to human health but also to the environment. Prolonged high temperatures can cause trees and shrubs to dry out, deteriorate the condition of green spaces, lead to the loss of young saplings and adversely affect wildlife.
