Regarding the appeals circulated on social media by certain citizens carrying out labor activities in the Republic of Korea, we would like to inform the following.
The Representative Office of the Migration Agency in the Republic of Korea is receiving appeals from citizens working under the E-9 visa regarding health conditions, working conditions, and issues related to changing workplaces.
Each appeal is reviewed jointly with the relevant organizations and employers in accordance with the applicable legislation, trilateral agreements, and labor regulations of the Republic of Korea.
In particular, additional review activities have been carried out together with partner enterprises and the Korean side regarding appeals from certain citizens working within the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries system.
During the review process, the medical documents of citizens who experienced health-related problems during their labor activity, working conditions, and the social protection mechanisms established under Korean labor legislation were thoroughly analyzed.
The Korean side has informed that employees who were injured during work or suffered from occupational diseases are protected under the legislation of that country, including the right to receive treatment through industrial accident insurance (산재보험).
At the same time, during the process of reviewing the appeals, it was identified that certain technical errors had been made in some response letters. Accordingly, the relevant information was reviewed again, and updated response letters were resent to the citizens.
The Migration Agency pays special attention to every appeal submitted by citizens working abroad and informs that efforts to protect their rights and legitimate interests will continue.
Citizens are also requested to comply with the requirements of their labor contracts, not to leave their workplaces arbitrarily, and to first обращаться through official procedures to the representative office and responsible organizations regarding any issues that arise.
