The meeting discussed the activities being carried out by Yamagata University in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
In particular, the implementation of the "U-Hope" and "Yori-I" programs in cooperation with professors from Yamagata University, based on Japanese experience, aimed at the development and support of small businesses and the establishment of a mentorship system was discussed. The results achieved this year and plans for 2025 were also reviewed.
This year, in cooperation with the Business Development Bank and the Yamagata University Training Center, 24 mentors were trained in courses designed to support and guide entrepreneurs with growth and development potential.
The training courses included Japan’s "U-Hope" program. The courses consisted of 10 types of video lessons and 6 types of case studies developed by professors from Yamagata University.
Currently, interest in this educational program among entrepreneurs is increasing. To date, more than 14,600 entrepreneurs have shown interest in the program, over 5,800 entrepreneurs have started the training process, and nearly 3,000 entrepreneurs have received certificates.
Regarding the mentors' activities:
- Japanese specialists selected 24 mentors from among the participants who successfully completed the training programs.
- The selected participants initially enhanced their qualifications in Uzbekistan and later at Yamagata University in Japan, receiving international certificates (from October 18–27 this year).
- In addition, according to the agreements, each mentor is obliged to train a total of 300 trainers (10–15 trainers per mentor).
- In turn, all mentors developed training programs and teaching schedules, which were approved by the centers.
As of November 18 of this year, the training of trainers has begun in all regions.
