During the meeting, it was emphasized that cooperation with Mastercard is of great importance for Uzbekistan, and it was proposed to pay special attention to the following priority areas:

Development of infrastructure for non-cash payments:

popularization of mobile payments and contactless technologies;

introduction of card payments in public transport and utilities;

development of innovative payment instruments, including digital wallets and biometric authentication systems.

Cash payments and reduction of the share of the shadow economy:

organization of information campaigns to improve financial literacy;

identification and prevention of tax evasion schemes in cooperation with tax authorities.

On development of fintech and support of entrepreneurship:

easing the conditions for accepting cards for small businesses;

implementation of fintech solutions for online trading platforms and business management.

On deepening digitalization in the system of public services and taxes:

transfer of public services to online format;

making transparent public procurement through electronic payment systems;

expanding the tax base based on payment data and increasing its efficiency.

In order to deepen cooperation, it was proposed to implement the following measures:

creation of the necessary regulatory framework;

development of investment programs for the development of payment infrastructure;

Conducting large-scale information campaigns to inform the population and businesses.

Following the meeting, it was noted that the parties will continue to exchange information and opinions on the aforementioned aspects, as well as work on the implementation of joint projects.
