Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the International Monetary Fund exchanged views on macroeconomic processes in our country

The meeting was attended by the head of the IMF representative office in Uzbekistan Koba Gvenetadze, IMF senior economists Lawrence Dwight and Alexander Simone, as well as responsible representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed current macroeconomic trends in our country, issues of sustainable economic growth, further development of the service sector and industry, ensuring the stability of the inflation rate, master plans formed to ensure economic and infrastructural growth of the regions, support for the private sector, including small and medium-sized businesses, and increasing export potential.
Also during the discussion, the parties exchanged views on the systemic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, in particular the processes of transformation and privatization of SOEs and SOBs, the changes being carried out in the formation of market relations in the energy sector, and increasing energy efficiency.
At the same time, the implemented public-private partnership projects in the field of road construction and energy, ensuring green and inclusive growth through the development of a green economy, creating sustainable jobs, improving tax administration, work on budget forecasts and other areas were touched upon.
Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to further develop and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
