Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The meeting was attended by representatives of the ministry, headed by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Gulnora Rakhimova, as well as Director of the Portfolio and Financial Management Department of the Asian Development Bank Jesper Pedersen and Public Procurement specialist Oliver Leonard.

During the meeting, ongoing reforms in the public procurement system were discussed in detail, in particular, the creation of a legal framework for the introduction of sustainable public procurement, improvement of electronic public procurement systems, support for reliable business entities in public procurement.

At the same time, areas of cooperation have been identified on the implementation of the project “Assessing the qualifications of public procurement subjects in Uzbekistan”, establishing the qualification requirements of government customers for responsible public procurement specialists, and improving the system of advanced training in public procurement.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
