An exchange of views took place with representatives of "Groupe Huit" company and the World Bank on developing master plans and regional development

The meeting was attended by Muhammad Nada, Senior Specialist of the World Bank for Urban Development, Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, representatives of the khokimiyats of Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions, and other officials.
During the dialogue, the parties discussed developing spatial and master plans with a new approach to sustainable infrastructure development of the regions, scientifically managing the expansion of settlements, implementing modern infrastructure solutions, increasing the economic potential of the regions, considering the national approach and local characteristics in planning, as well as the extensive use of advanced and successful experiences.
At the meeting, the parties also emphasized the need to focus on the following priority areas when planning the infrastructure of cities and districts:
· determining strategic directions for territorial development;
· forming stable engineering and communication systems;
· rational and efficient use of land resources;
· implementation of modern urban planning solutions based on environmental safety requirements and green development mechanisms;
· designing a new residential area in Qamashi district using modern international standards and advanced urban planning methodologies.
Additionally, during the discussions, Joss Guillaume presented research and initial results for developing a territorial spatial development strategy for Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, including proposals and information on promising directions for determining the functional layout of territories, identifying no-build zones, modernizing cities and encouraging rational growth within existing infrastructure, as well as promoting compact, sensible growth within the existing infrastructure framework.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties agreed to develop cooperation and carry out systematic and effective work to achieve the set goals.
