A master class was held on the topical issues of coordinating fiscal and monetary policy in Uzbekistan

To implement the tasks outlined in the Strategy, on 3 December 2025, the Training Center under the Ministry of Economy and Finance organized a master class for employees of the Ministry’s central office on the topic “Topical Issues of Coordinating Fiscal and Monetary Policy in Uzbekistan.”
The master class discussed the current macroeconomic situation in Uzbekistan, key imbalances, the objectives and principles of coordinating macroeconomic policies, as well as the interlinkages between fiscal and monetary policy. Participants gained practical insights into macro-fiscal forecasting, the dynamics of economic indicators, and the models used in fiscal and monetary policy.
At the event, Professor Ashurali Khudoynazarov (DSc) of Webster University in Tashkent delivered a lecture, providing insights into macro-fiscal stability models, the institutional foundations of coordinating fiscal and monetary policy, and advanced approaches used in international practice.
During the seminar, economists and experts provided comprehensive answers to questions raised by ministry staff. In addition, key macroeconomic challenges facing the country, the effectiveness of fiscal policy, the relationship between inflation and economic growth, and the importance of institutional reforms were widely discussed.
This master class organized by the Training Center contributes to achieving the goals outlined in the Strategy, enhancing analytical capacity in the field of public financial management, and strengthening staff knowledge and skills in macroeconomic modeling and forecasting.
