On October 19, the international business meeting, SamAuto Supplier Day, was held in Samarkand, focusing on the development of industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye. The event brought together more than 150 representatives of government agencies, industrial enterprises, and business communities from both countries.
Sohibjon Murodov, Director of the Agency for Management of State Assets, welcomed Turkish investors and noted that the total volume of Turkish investment in Uzbekistan’s economy had reached nearly USD 10 billion. In recent years, Turkish investors have acquired more than 30 state assets with a combined value of approximately USD 350 million.
“We view Turkish investors as long-term strategic partners. Privatization is not merely the sale of state assets; it is also about attracting investment, modernizing enterprises, introducing advanced technologies, and creating new jobs,” Sohibjon Murodov emphasized.
Special attention was also given to the privatization of SamAuto. In 2025, Türkiye’s Anadolu Isuzu acquired a 75.2% stake in the company. This opened up new opportunities to develop production, increase localization, and expand export potential.
The Agency invites Turkish investors to actively participate in privatization processes and take advantage of new opportunities to implement investment projects in Uzbekistan.
