On 11 February, for the first time in the history of Uzbek-Pakistani relations, the ‘Made in Uzbekistan’ exhibition of national products was launched in Lahore.
The event, organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was attended by high-ranking officials from relevant ministries and agencies, industry associations, and more than 500 business representatives from both countries.
Around 100 major Uzbek companies specializing in electrical engineering, construction materials, textiles, leather and footwear, furniture and woodworking, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, the food industry, and tourism showcased their products at the exhibition.
The event featured B2B (business-to-business) and G2B (government-to-business) negotiations, providing entrepreneurs with opportunities to establish new connections and explore potential joint projects. Official delegates also discussed the technical and legal aspects of new trade agreements aimed at increasing bilateral trade turnover.
Experts believe that the ‘Made in Uzbekistan’ exhibition will serve as a key platform for promoting Uzbek products in the Pakistani market, strengthening business ties, and fostering new investment opportunities.
The event is expected to result in the signing of trade contracts between Uzbek and Pakistani enterprises, totaling $500 million.
