On April 3 this year, the construction of the first buildings began in New Tashkent. The Head of state emphasized the symbolism of the fact that the grandiose project starts with the construction of centers of science and spirituality. As the President noted, this will become the basis and example of building an enlightened society.
One of these objects is a complex that includes the Alisher Navoi International Research Center, the Literature Museum, and the National Maqom Center. It was designed by the world-famous Zaha Hadid Architects. The future complex deserves attention for its unique design and functionality. It skillfully combines aesthetics and comfort, and the structure fits harmoniously into the environment. Due to these features, the complex is expected to become one of the centers of attraction for international tourism.
Another growth point of New Tashkent is the Chirchik River. To create modern conditions for residents and guests, a recreational zone on a site about 6 kilometers long is planned. For this purpose, the coast will be landscaped and greened, and hotels, health, and entertainment facilities will be built.
In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO has been further strengthened. The 43rd session of this authoritative organization’s General Conference is scheduled for 2025 in Samarkand. Under the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of March 15 this year, preparations for this event have begun.
Information was provided on the work being carried out. In particular, the Art and Culture Development Foundation, the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, and other organizations are taking measures to preserve the cultural heritage sites of the city of Samarkand and organize excursions and exhibitions. All necessary conditions will be created in hotels and event venues. Coordinated measures are planned to arrange visits of session participants, cultural programs, transport, and medical services.
One of the most essential areas in the social sphere is education. In Uzbekistan, where most of the population is young people, all education links are consistently developing. In particular, new educational institutions are being built in higher education, and conditions are improving.
More than 21 thousand young people are studying at Bukhara State University, which has 10 faculties and 8 dormitories. However, the buildings are located in different areas of the city, which creates inconvenience for teachers and students.
In this regard, a new university campus will be built on Bukhara’s outskirts. All faculties, administration, dormitories, laboratories, a library, a stadium, a gym, and an amphitheater will be compactly located in the designed complex, which will have an area of 43 hectares. Modern conditions for conducting classes and undergoing practical training will be created. The capacity of the dormitories will increase from 3000 to 6000 places. Trees will be planted in free areas, and a park will be created.
The city of Khiva is one of the main tourist destinations in Uzbekistan. Recent creative work has increased its potential even more. An overpass next to the railway station is planned to make visitors’ lives easier. According to the project, this 450-meter road will allow for separate traffic, and pedestrians can safely move between the station and Ichan Kala.
The Head of state gave instructions on improving projects and increasing the quality of work.
