An open day of the accelerator program was held in Tashkent, organized with the support of Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to increase the export potential of local producers. The event featured Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, along with leaders of industry associations, relevant agencies, selected manufacturers, and trainers from CIS and EU countries.
In his opening remarks, Ilzat Kasimov highlighted the main goals of the accelerator, which include a comprehensive preparation of participants alongside experts and partners on all stages of export activity—from market and competition analysis to pitch preparation and negotiation. The accelerator is designed so that participants' entire journey is accompanied by specialists experienced in exporting to specific target countries, increasing matchmaking chances and participants' competitiveness.
Alongside the results presentation and self-introduction within the accelerator, the event also included educational sessions from foreign speakers and local exporters. Speakers shared practical knowledge on preparing companies for export, leading interactive sessions on macroeconomic indicators, working with European and CIS markets, effective sales, partner search, trade proposals, and marketing tools in foreign markets.
Experts noted Uzbekistan's successful growth in export activity, evidenced by more products on store shelves, active participation in international exhibitions, and an increased number of flights to the country. This demonstrates active investments and growing export interest in Uzbekistan. However, there is potential for medium-sized businesses to expand further, with over 75% of participants representing regional areas.
Participants were also introduced to all stages of the accelerator, the main business preparation blocks for export, and a detailed step-by-step interaction plan with program experts and trackers.
— “We assign a tracker to each company, who will monitor progress according to the plan and receive feedback from the participant teams. The tracker's task is to monitor in real-time how companies are progressing through the educational blocks (online and offline), completing assignments, and preparing for the practical phase. Tracker support is mandatory at each stage, up to closing deals and sending goods under foreign trade contracts abroad,” said Ekaterina Norkina, CEO of the IMGR group of companies. — "At the same time, the program and trackers are matched with companies according to the specifics of the target market. We will guide our participants in analyzing competitive environments by industry, conducting financial calculations, and preparing trade proposals."
The program's effectiveness will be measured by export contracts concluded, and for this, Uzbekistan enlisted an international player—leading matchmaking experts and specialists in CIS and Middle Eastern markets.
Speakers also highlighted the measures of direct support introduced in the country for exporters, including compensation for exporters’ transportation, marketing, and advertising expenses, costs for obtaining permits and certificates, as well as benefits and preferences.
