Meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Swiss Confederation

On 3 November, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev met with Member of the Federal Council and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis.
During the negotiations, issues of further developing bilateral and cooperation relations within international organizations between Uzbekistan and Switzerland were discussed.
The Swiss Minister emphasized that the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference hosted by the city of Samarkand is being organized at a very high level and sincerely congratulated the Government of Uzbekistan on this great success.
In mutual relations, the priority of paying special attention to the expansion of trade, economic and investment relations was noted. It was emphasized that within the framework of the Swiss Federal Government’s 2026–2029 Program of Cooperation with Central Asia, joint projects will be implemented.
An agreement was reached to consistently continue mutually beneficial relations within the framework of the UN, UNESCO, OSCE and other international organizations and financial institutions.
