Press Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
Akhror Burkhanov was appointed as the Press Secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan since February 2023. Mr. Burkhanov in his capacity serves as the Advisor to the Foreign Minister on information policy issues and the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to his assignment, Mr. Burkhanov served at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the U.S. in charge of bilateral relations in media, public diplomacy, tourism, education, and healthcare. He was also in charge of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Brazil. He is a career diplomat and has experience working at the Department for cooperation with the UN and other international organizations, Consolidated Information and Analytical Department, and Information-analytical Center for International Relations.
He has an undergraduate degree in economics from Westminster International University in Tashkent and a graduate degree in development policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management.
