Meeting with the Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office

On September 4, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Terhi Hakala.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation on Afghanistan. The mutual interest in maintaining a regular dialogue on the Afghan settlement was emphasized.
The Special Envoy highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan.
An exchange of views also took place on the issues of restoring Afghanistan’s national economy, as well as prospects for involving the country in regional connectivity processes.
The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and confirmed the shared commitment to further developing practical dialogue between Uzbekistan and the OSCE.
