On the Meeting with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization

On June 5, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov met with Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further strengthening practical cooperation within the Organization, paying particular attention to the development of transport connectivity, the expansion of trade and economic ties, the digitalization of customs procedures, and the removal of barriers to the movement of goods and services.
Special attention was paid to the consistent promotion of the initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the ECO summits, including the adoption of the “Strategic Goals of the Economic cooperation - 2035”, the signing of the Trade Facilitation Agreement, as well as the schedule of upcoming events within the ECO.
