Regional Energy Reform Summit: Strengthening Regulatory Practices

The event is attended by about 40 foreign guests, as well as experts and representatives of international financial organizations.
Among them are Giorgi Pruidze – Commissioner of the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, Assan Darbayev – the Chairman of Committee on regulation of natural monopolies of the Ministry of national economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mustafa Yilmaz – the President of Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Türkiye, senior officials from the Energy Regulatory Agency of Azerbaijan and the Energy Market Regulatory Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic and Dietmar Preinstorfer – member of the Presidium of the Regional Association of Energy Regulatory Authorities (ERRA).
During the two-day event, participants will be divided into sessions with lectures and discussions on topics such as the basics of regulatory reform, energy market dynamics, transition to sustainable energy, digitalization and innovation.
The main objective of the event is to bring together stakeholders and experts, to help develop a robust, transparent and effective regulatory framework to support the region's sustainable development goals, to provide practical support for communication and exchange of experience between regulators in the energy sector, and to provide practical support to regulators who are faced with identifying common challenges and opportunities and exploring possible actions to address them, showcasing successful regulatory and legal frameworks, as well as showcasing successful regulatory reforms. Another objective of the event is to promote partnership and cooperation between regulators to develop regional energy relations as well as cooperation in the field of sustainable development.
