Uzbekistan and Germany expand strategic cooperation in the field of state asset management

On May 18 of this year, within the framework of the “German Economy Day in Uzbekistan” conference, a meeting was held between the Director of the State Assets Management Agency and a delegation led by Dr. Andreas Kerst, Head of the Directorate for the Management of State Shares and Equity in State-Owned Enterprises in the Transport and Infrastructure Sector at the Federal Ministry of Transport of the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further strengthening economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, particularly in improving the operational efficiency of state-owned enterprises in the transport and infrastructure sectors, advancing their digitalization, modernizing management systems, as well as studying German experience and expanding practical cooperation to increase private sector participation in these sectors.
The meeting also placed particular emphasis on improving airport management systems, developing airport infrastructure based on modern management mechanisms, expanding local production in the automotive industry, and enhancing manufacturing capacities.
The parties also discussed establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in enhancing the capacity of specialists and responsible staff working in the state asset management system, facilitating their participation in experience-sharing programs at leading German organizations and companies, improving professional qualifications, and strengthening institutional cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue regular dialogue at the expert level, exchange experience, and implement promising joint initiatives in the future.
