Meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund was held at UzSAMA

On April 1 of the current year, a meeting was held at the State Assets Management Agency with a delegation of the International Monetary Fund led by the IMF Mission Chief in Uzbekistan, Yasser Abdih.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years to accelerate privatization processes, as well as measures aimed at improving the efficiency of management of enterprises with state participation and the priority areas for the future.

The parties also reviewed the adopted regulatory and legal framework in this area, the achieved practical results, and the ongoing phased transition of enterprises with state participation to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
In addition, an exchange of views took place on the phased privatization of enterprises with state participation by 2030, aimed at significantly reducing the state’s share in the economy to 85 percent.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in further refining and implementing the draft Strategy “Reforming and privatization of enterprises with state participation for 2026–2030”, developed by the State Assets Management Agency.
