On February 20, 2026, within the framework of the Uzbekistan–Serbia Business Forum, Nozimjon Kholmurodov, Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held bilateral negotiations with a delegation led by Adriana Mesarović, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Serbia in the field of light industry, implementing joint manufacturing projects, and strengthening mutual investment ties.
Particular attention was paid to the establishment of joint ventures in textiles, leather and footwear, technical textiles, and home textiles, as well as to leveraging Serbia’s access to European markets.
It was emphasized that Uzbekistan’s fully integrated value chain, the GSP+ preferential trade regime, competitive labor force, and favorable conditions established in special economic zones present promising opportunities for Serbian partners.
The parties also exchanged views on advancing cooperation in sustainable development, transitioning to a green industry, introducing energy-efficient technologies, and producing environmentally compliant goods.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to promote practical projects in the light industry sector, establish working groups, and further intensify cooperation between the business communities of both countries.
