On January 27, 2026, the Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rukhullo Zikrillayev, held a meeting with the head of one of the world's leading sourcing companies — Cotton House, along with representatives of local textile enterprises.
For reference: Cotton House collaborates with global brands such as Disney, Marvel, LEGO, Pokémon, NBA, and Manchester United, as well as major international retailers including Tesco, Primark, Marks & Spencer, Lidl, and Kaufland.
The main objective of the meeting was to expand opportunities for Uzbek textile companies to enter global markets, establish direct cooperation with international retailers, and increase the share of high value-added products in exports.
During the presentation, key topics were discussed, including technical and social compliance requirements essential for operating in global markets, product development aligned with market demand, creation of trend-based collections, and positioning manufacturers as strategic partners.
The parties agreed to develop cooperation based on the principle of “from market to manufacturing,” select pilot enterprises, and prepare them in accordance with the standards of the European, UK, and US markets.
